There is also the possibility for alumni to organise a colloquium.
The current CEE fellowship holders are networked on a communication platform (https://stipnet.dbu.de).

So-called "Small Grants" are intended to offer fellows an additional incentive to return to their home country after the core fellowship and to use the skills they have acquired in Germany in the field of environmental protection and nature conservation. The funding is granted for a maximum of six months. The Small Grants are to be awarded primarily to those fellows who have achieved an exceptional performance in the course of the fellowship.
The Small Grants serve the in-depth qualification of excellent fellows with regard to the conception and implementation of research and development as well as development and testing projects with relevance to sustainability, the environment and/or nature conservation. In the Small Grants, the fellows potentially qualify as future project partners of the DBU. The Small Grants are generally to be carried out in the fellows' countries of origin and should be oriented towards the DBU's funding topics. In particular, they can comprise three types of projects:
a) Field of action analyses on selected environmental challenges,
b) Development of feasibility concepts for potential projects,
c) Implementation of model practical projects.
The projects should focus on topics that address specific sustainability challenges.
Further information on application requirements and content requirements can be found in the funding guidelines for Small Grants. For further questions, please contact Dr. Alexander Bittner (a.bittner@dbu.de).
The DBU supports both – scientifically oriented scholarships and practice-oriented projects! Further information on international project funding is available from the DBU special representatives Claudia Domel (claudia.domel@imw.fraunhofer.de) for the countries of the Baltic States, the Balkans, the Kaliningrad oblast, Bulgaria, Romania and the Ukraine, and Romana Cermanova for the countries (r.cermanova@gmail.com) Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
